Alyssa Beavers

Wayne State University

Alyssa Beavers is a registered dietitian and assistant professor at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She conducts community-engaged research on urban gardening, collaborating with gardening organizations to examine the health impacts of gardening and factors that influence continuation of gardening. She is also interested in addressing inequities in food security, diet, and health among marginalized populations.

Michelle Litton

Wayne State University

Michelle Litton is a registered dietitian and Wayne State University nutrition doctoral student. She loves sharing her knowledge with others so they too can discover the profound effects nutrition can have on general health, emotional well-being, and quality of life. Her research interests fall under the realm of food security, including improving access to healthy foods and strategies to facilitate health behavior changes to reduce health disparities.
