Marcelle Dougan

Marcelle Dougan, ScD, MPH, MEng, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health and Recreation at San Jose State University. Her research focuses on two key areas: 1) improving the quality of life of breast cancer survivors, and 2) examining the causes and consequences of COVID-19 in the United States, particularly among marginalized populations.

Giselle Pignotti, PhD, RD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Packaging at San José State University. Her research focuses on the determinants of healthy eating and strategies to improve dietary quality and practices.

Iris Tablas-Mejia

Iris Tablas-Mejia is a diet clerk in Oakland and a San José State University dietetics graduate student. An aspiring registered dietitian, her interests include food security, nutrition-related health disparities, and nutrition education.

Adriana Telias

San José State University

Adriana Telias is pursuing her M.S. in Nutritional Science in the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Packaging at San José State University. She previously obtained a PhD in Applied Plant Sciences at the University of Minnesota and conducted food safety and postharvest research at the University of Maryland and the private sector.
